360 + XNA + Vista

Markus Ewald, aka Cygon, sent me a note saying that he got XNA Game Studio working properly on a Vista machine. I followed his five easy steps, and got it working on my laptop. After playing the XNA recreation of Spacewar for a bit, I decided it was time to get my XNA Creator's Club membership and test it on the Xbox 360.

New Monitor

There is now a brand new 20 inch LCD monitor sitting on my desk and I absolutely love it.  This replaced my horribly old 19 inch CRT clunker.  Having a widescreen monitor is so much nicer as you can have your code open on one side of the screen, and referencing documentation on the other.

Happy Holidays

I hope everyone has a great holiday and a Merry Christmas!

Linux Goodness

Chris and I headed over to this month's Drupal meet in Toronto, held at the Linux Cafe. We met a number of Drupal enthusiasts and talked about some of the new features in Drupal 5. Rob Milne showed off some amazing functionality using his new WebFM file manager for Drupal, Matt taught me a bit about Linux symbolic links so that I could correctly setup the multi-site system using Drupal, and I demonstrated some CCK and Views module theming mastery. Very productive night, and I look forward to the next one.

Drupal 5.0 RC1

Considering I'm using Drupal for the backend of my site, I've been keeping up with all the latest modules, themes and news. Drupal 5.0 RC1 came out today, and I made the update. I love the multi-site system that Drupal has setup. When I update my site, about three other sites are also updated seamlessly. Well done, Drupal, keep up the great work!
